Life Below The Sea
Life below the sea is counting on us. There are now thousands of tons of plastic in the ocean and about 8 million pieces go in every single day! Life underwater is very important because almost 70% of our oxygen comes from the sea. At this point there are no shortcuts to save the ocean, we have to clean them! Millions of sea life die every year due to pollution and plastic. According to Wikipedia “About eighty percent of marine pollution comes from land.” Air pollution is also a factor because the air carries harmful chemicals like dust and sulfur that can harm most sea animals . In addition to all that whenever a ship crashes it causes an oil spill which can be harmful for years to come. All of those events lead to the estimated 100 million marine deaths that happen every year! How can we save the ocean? We have many ways that we can stop this from happening to marine life. There are 3 basic things that you can do that can save many marine animals' lives. The first way you can save a mernine life is by cutting down your plastic use, for example you can use a reusable water bottle instead of a plastic one. The second thing that you can do occasionally is to donate around 10$ to a company that is helping and cleaning the oceans like Oceana. The last and final thing is to set aside some time and go to a local beach and clean up trash that you find. This can really help a lot if enough of people do it and it would really help our oceans. Many marine animals are dying because of our plastic. Along with that most of our oxygen comes from the sea. If the sea gets destroyed by plastic then we would have a lot less oxygen on our earth. As said before, ways that we can stop marine animal deaths can be cutting down your plastic use or donating to companies that help that cause. As you can see that is why we need to actively try to stop more plastic going in and spread awareness that this is happening.
